The Federal Skilled Trades class (FST) is one of the economic classes processed under the Express Entry system. To be eligible under the FSW, the principal applicant must meet the following minimum requirements:

You must:
 plan to live outside the province of Quebec,
 meet the required levels in English or French for each language ability (speaking, reading, writing and listening). That is, meet the minimum language level of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 for speaking and listening, and Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 for reading and 
writing, , based on the results of the:
o General test from the IELTS (www.ielts.org ) OR
o General test from CELPIP (www.celpip.ca ) AND/OR
o General test from French TEF (http://www.centredelanguefrancaise.paris/tests-diplomes/test-evaluation- francais-tef/tef- canada/ )

You must:
 have at least two years of full-time work experience (30 hours/week for 12 months) or an equal amount of part-time work experience (15 hours/week for 24 months) in a skilled trade within the five years before you apply,
 meet the job requirements for that skilled trade as set out in the National Occupational Classification (NOC), except for needing a certificate of qualification,

You must:
 have an offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least one year or a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority.

A valid offer of 
full time employment has to be:
 made by up to two employers
 for continuous, paid, full-time work (at least 30 hours a week),
 for work that is for at least one year, in a skilled trade occupation under these major and minor groups of the NOC:
- Major Group 72, industrial, electrical and construction trades,
- Major Group 73, maintenance and equipment operation trades,
- Major Group 82, supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture and related production,
- Major Group 92, processing, manufacturing and
utilities supervisors and central control operators,
- Minor Group 632, chefs and cooks, and
- Minor Group 633, butchers and bakers.

And
 the employer making you the job offer must have a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment from Employment and Social Development Canada, OR
 you are currently working in Canada in a skilled trade job on a work permit that was issued based on a Labour Market Impact Assessment, and
 you are working for an employer listed on your work permit,
 you are authorized to work in Canada on the day you apply for a permanent resident visa and when the visa is issued, and
 your current employer made you an offer to give you a full-time job if you are accepted as a permanent resident for a period of at least one year, in a job that is in the same three digit 
level of the NOC as your current job.

Note:

There is no education requirement for Federal Skilled Trades Class. But, if you want to earn points for your education under Express Entry, you either need:
 a Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree, OR
 a completed foreign credential and an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report from an agency approved by the Immigration department. The report must show 
your foreign education is equal to a completed Canadian credential.

Be assessed by the province or territory.
You should go to the website of the body that governs trades for the province/territory where you would like to live and work. The process is different depending on where you want to go.

Medical, security and other requirements
 You and your family members must have a medical exam done and get police certificates.
 You must also show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you get to Canada
